Vale West - Saria 2016.png
Here is my first officially finished map here at the guild. I can see where I need to improve, but I feel like the process of creating this map was such an amazing journey and I've got a real soft spot for it. Love to hear what anyone thinks about it and thanks to everyone who offered me advice during the WIP.

Many application in execution and implementation. Nice work for a first map.
Amazing work! Nice choice in font. In Miras, is that an outhouse up the hill?
Also, love the little boat, ads so much effect. It gives the impression they are two very different towns.
If you twisted my arm to give you some criticism, I would say your northern forest looks higher quality then the others. lol I really like the effect you gave it and I see you tried to do the same with the other two, but it just doesn't pop as much as the northern one.
Now I gotta catch up some soon, been working.
A nice improvment from the start to the end, good job Saria!
Congrats on your first map, Saria! And thanks for sharing your work flow with us. It was fun to watch it all come together. I like the almost painterly style you have and the bright colours work really well. Looking forward to seeing what you do next.

Thank you everyone! Appreciate the kind comments.
Robert: Not an outhouse, haha! I will have to improve it maybe - it was supposed to be a mine - so mining village vs. fishing village And yes, I agree with the differences in the forests, hopefully as I get better, they will stay more standardized. For now, I've just decided they are different
It's a lovely map Saria! The colors and shadings are particularly well done and I've no doubt you're gonna improving your mapping skills very quickly.
sweet!!!
Lovely work Saria. It also has the virtue of clarity - It's the sort of regional map that would be very easy to reference even when shrunk to a 1/2 page slot in an rpg supplement.
Cheers,
