Thread: Religious differences.

    Question Religious differences.

Hey guys. How would one nation react to another having a different religion. Would they try to force their religion upon them? Would they tolerate it? Would they say you can only practice your religion in your homeland, and you must practice ours in our homeland?

It depends entirely on the religion. History shows a wide range of behaviors. An invading theistic state might not care much about the local religion as long as the local populace makes appropriate sacrifices to the invader's gods. The local populace may refuse and go into revolt (some extremists in Roman Judea), it might not care too much (most of the Roman empire), or it might just add those gods to the local pantheon and have a bigger party (chunks of the Indian subcontinent). Here in the modern world, we have a few religions who view the idea of having a different religion as punishable by death. Which side prevails usually comes down to will, wealth, and technology.
