Tried it with a more yellowy aged tinged to it too. Let me know what you think.

Oh yeah, I like the aged version a lot. It feels more authentic to the style of the map. One other possibility you might consider is to discolour the edges a little, just to give the sense of old, faded paper. You could perhaps try running a low opacity grunge brush around the edge of the map and see what it looks like? A dirty spot here and there would probably add to the aged feel too. (I really like a dirty, grungy map!!)

Either way, it's looking really good.

Yeah, I was wondering if I should try doing something to the edges. Thanks for the suggestion and the kind words, I think I might give it a go later when I get home!

Here we are then, all aged up and slightly worn.

I may actually try this with the map in real life as well and would have uploaded that, but given how crinkly it would be, it probably wouldn't scan very well. Perhaps I'll try that and upload a photo of it somewhere after the challenge is over.

I want to know what it is... I want to know what EVERYTHING IS. Don't leave me hanging (ps. this is awesome)

Thanks for the compliments, but I'm afraid you'll have to keep guessing. It's too much fun to have mysteries!
