Hi from Austria!

Hello everyone

I am from Austria and study engineering at a technical university. Just recently I changed from civil to geomatics, which at my university includes a fair share of cartography. So I read some things about map making, historical maps etc. and what should I say, I was hooked

Because of my background I'm pretty fluent in CAD apps and have also a basic understanding of GIS. I want to go a little bit deeper into the artistic side, therefore I'm currently working on improving my GIMP skills, which I used before just for picture post-processing, and getting to know some basics in Inkscape.

I'm now reading in this forum for a few days and have to say it's pretty awesome and that I'm happy to become part of such a great community.
