Like Lingon says, you can't really fix it at this point. Well, maybe you can - is it still in pencil? If so, you might try gently erasing bits and pieces of the outer coast line ring to give it a more broken up look, to help differentiate it from the coast proper.

Or - and this might be easier - very lightly shade the space in between the coast and the coast line ring.

Great work Redleg. Definitely some great progress in this one. Especially towards your gritty goal

Concerning feedback, the first thing for me is that the forests has a more top-down perspective than the rest of the map. If the forest details were more horizontal and less repetitive I think it would look better

Nice work! I agree with Lingon's point about the shoreline though. Perhaps ripples might be a better choice in the future?
