Default February 2016 Challenge: The Elder Isles (Lyonesse trilogy)

    Hey all,

I won't have that much time to dedicate in that challenge sadly but I'm jumping in anyways. I'm going with a map of the Elder Isles from Jack Vance's Lyonesse fantasy trilogy, books that I've read back in years when I was younger. Regarding the few time I'll have available, I've decided to go with a (pure) black and white - without shading- map. Here's the first step:

It's already looking amazing. Can't wait to see what you can do with this! It's been awhile since I've read the books but I loved them. I know you'll do them justice!

Thanks guys ! Here's a new update. At this stage, the left map only needs labels to be done.

Neat, I particularly like the forests, how they just fade out without edges, would have thought such a style wouldn't work well in pure B&W bit it really does!

Fantastic work, Max. I've never read these books, but the map is awesome.
