    Help Ahoy there Cartographers!

Hey there! I'm new to the site and I am looking to to share some of my maps and ideas, and hopefully get some advice and help on my future endeavors! My name is Marko Gagic, but you can Call me Manatee Express, or Manatee for short. I enjoy creating worlds for Tabletop Campaigns, or even short stories and the like. All the maps for my previous Tabletop campaigns have been made in Hexographer, but I feel as though that the program does not suit my needs anymore, so I have tried making my own map, using Donjon's World Generator as a base. I am rather pleased with my results, but I would love to expand upon this map, and give it some nice textures, mountains, rivers and other points. Sadly I am lacking in artistic ability, and I would be very grateful if someone could point me towards a guide for beginners, that would help me turn this map into something more aesthetically pleasing

    Welcome!

That is a nice outline, but as you say really needs some things that make it a map.

See this simple tutorial for starters: Hand-Drawn Mapping (for the Artistically Challenged)

You should also take a look at this: A Quickstart Guide to Fantasy Mapping

    Hope that helps you.

Thanks for all the well wishes friendos! I've started outlining the map, and this is my progress so far! Only one more continent left to trace, and then I shall work on painting and texturing the land!

Well wishes to the rest of ya!

The tracing looks like it's going well so far. I'm just wondering how big you have the image. You don't want it too small or else it will be very hard to draw things on it..

I offer map commissions for RPG's, world-building, and books
