Default Map an underwater kingdom or city

How many times have gamers gone on adventures where they are either on a ship that gets sunk and they get rescued by mermaids or mermen, or they are on a ship and get attacked by some Kuo-Toa or Sahuagin or even drown zombies of previous sailors?

Well, all of these creatures (except for maybe the zombies) have to have some sort of culture under the sea or ocean. So how about a challenge where we map out an underwater kingdom or city?

I did one a long time ago, I intend to publish, but I'd participate!

The only thing I'm wondering is how do players explore underwater without drowning?

Well if its a D&D type game, breathe water as a spell, otherwise a submersible or an ancient rebreather. There's a Muslim urn with a painting on it depicting a famous river crossing in war with men carrying urns with hoses that were supposed to be rebreathers actually used historically.

Well, I haven't played D&D or any RPG for that matter, so I wouldn't know.

P.S. That underwater map looks awesome.

I created a map symbol set of 50 Undersea Plants and Animals (corals, 3D fish and crabs, etc.) some included in that posted map, but the rest made last year... link to that product. I simply couldn't good photo-realistic map symbols of underwater life, so I had to make it myself.

And according to some legends, if you get kissed by a mermaid they will give you the ability to breathe underwater. As far as Dungeons and Dragons goes, you could also use a crystal ball to "see" under the water.

Also, who says it has to be back in the day? Maybe some deep sea explorers chanced upon a city or kingdom of underwater creatures by using sonar.

Wow, gameprinter, that is pretty cool!
