Default Problem with Wilbur -> FT3 transfer

I suspect that I had this problem already once a long time ago but can't remember what the solution was.

    The problem is simple :

    1) I create a map in Wilbur
    2) I save it as a .mdr file
    3) I open FT3, create new world
    4) I follow the "There and back again" - input the .mdr file as the binary file, invert the 90 and - 90 etc etc
    5) I just get a black or blue uniform screen

I vaguely remember that this had something to do with missing color scheme or mountains heights or whatever other problem that is not mentionned in FT3 tutorial.
How do I get the map created in Wilbur visible in FT3 ?

The uniform altitude is a suggestion that FT isn't reading the surface properly. I should put some sort of alert in there, but the code in inconveniently structured for that.

Anyhow... I think that I broke the auto-flip in FT when you specify the top and bottom upside-down. In Wilbur, do a flip vertical before saving the MDR. In FT, make the top 90 and the bottom -90.

I should probably try to fix the tutorial, but I am told that my site is being worked on at the moment in addition to having half the pictures broken. I need two or three more of me (and then listen to the incessant whining about how most of them don't get to do the fun stuff) or a way to make Wilbur generate revenue.

I am pretty sure that Wilbur could generate revenue but it'd need to get better and more user friendly.
There are plenty of things that are broken or have little use (who uses all the fractal types, totoidal rotation or the deterracing to mention just a few?) while others that would be useful (like improved shaders or better blur) are missing.
But as you can't be 2, you can't improve it and it can't generate revenue. There is a logic.

I think that the problem I mentionned has something to do with this flipping - sometimes it works and sometimes not.

Try c:\Program Files\Slayton Software for the install location.
