Post Vahltor: the City of Keys

This is a slight cheat in that I WIP'ed it a long time ago, I've just recently been tinkering with it. It's the capital city of one of my major nations of my world Helevos, roughly 18th century equivalent technology

Very nice map, great clear style! Nice job.
Maybe more of a comment for the city planners than for you, but fortified cities in the 18th century tended to be like huge star forts (as far as I know), with many bastions and complex moats, as the medieval-type walls you're depicting here could not stand up anymore to the early modern cannons. But maybe the entire city is a bit of an Old City, that hasn't had a need to upgrade its defences

Thanks! It's more socially 18th century - early industrial but they don't have gunpowder weapons (mainly due to poor metallurgy). The main reason for the walls is an obsessive desire to control the population. Hence it's called the City of Keys: the people are locked down, and locked in, with rich neighbourhoods divided from poor. So they're more like dividing walls than fortifications, except for the Old City which has some crumbling castle-like walls.

Ah I see! Interesting backstory. So it's more like a huge prison. Then I have no complaints
