Really great job on the shading and the overall perspective! Love the rich, dark blue ocean, too.
Hi guys,
I am happy to present my newest commission piece, the ancient Greece-inspired country Arkaias, which is the peninsula in the middle of the map. The client requested a map riddled with mountains and island chains, and that's something I love to provide.
The idea was to create a map that only shows the physical geography and the major political regions, which will be the backdrop for the client to work out history and city locations as he goes along.

Great map! I love the perspective and I prefer it without the big title you had in the WIP. I would just see more labels and places... but, well, what the client wants...
Great map!
A fine map indeed. I'd say you nailed your client's request. The colors are very nice and I like the composition as well. I can't help feeling that those rivers would have looked more natural had they been colored. All in all a map to be proud of.
Cheers,

Really great work. Your commissioner will be happy. I'm not found with the border, but i'm not a specialist of this map aspect. Waiting to see your next commission work.
Thanks a bunch, Wired! The vibrant blues could either make or break the feel of the map, so I spent quite a bit of time on finetuning it. Glad to hear you like it!
Thanks Josiah, you were a great follower!
I agree the map would look a little less empty with a sprinkle of cities, a web of roads and some borders to top it all off, but those will be added as soon as they are "discovered" in the narrative. I'm sure the map will look vastly different if we could check back on it a year from now!
Thanks Arsheesh! And yes, I hadn't even thought of it, but I definitely should try that in my next regional map.
Yeah the border *is* kinda strong isn't it? But hey, the client loved it, which is exactly the idea of course!
