Map May/June Lite Mapping Challenge: Merydyan

I saw that Warlin posted his finished map for the May/June lite Mapping Challenge. I thought it was a great idea.. so I've decided to do the same.

I actually created a storyline to go with this map... but it's too long to post here. I do however, hope you enjoy the map!

i really like that dragon, give it a shadow though! only issue i have with this map is the fidelity on the border, at full resolution it is blown out. looks great, reminds me of all my favorite computer rpgs from when i was kiddo!

    hey sword peddler!

I know my border leaves a little to be desired, but I had to have one, and I'm not experienced yet to make them... I'm still learning the program, so I did the best I could.

If you zoom in though, you should see that there actually is a shadow under the dragon... the symbol actually comes with it... that's why I chose that particular one... that and the fact it was breathing fire! lol

Love the mountains and land texture! The one thing that's a bit off for me is the font color. It's a little bright compared to the other colors on the map.

    Hey GreatWhiteNorth!

Yes, that green is a little neon, isn't it. That's NOT the color.of green I chose, and some of the renderings of this map actually have the better color of green. For some strange reason my program kept defaulting to this green, and I didn't always catch it and change it before I saved. I have to figure out how.to prevent that from happening in future maps.

I must confess that I'm not a huge fan of CC maps, but it was a very interesting story and I really like the composition of your map, ladiestorm. Well done!

Ah ha! I found it at last!

Been looking for this one since I joined the guild. You're right - its a massive place a bit like a city.

I have a fondness for this map because you were starting it around about the time I joined the Profantasy forum. I will always like it - I saw it being born, and all the very hard work you put into it

Thanks Mouse! It's one of my favorites, too, I must admit! Mainly because I stepped WAY out of my comfort zone to make it! And it's the project that kind of led to what I'm doing now. It appears I have lost my comfort zone and have leaped out into the wide world of infinite creative possibilites!
