Hi DaeDae, welcome to the Guild. I doodle in my lunchbreak sometimes too. It's fun and good practice, and mapping is hugely addictive! Looking forward to seeing your work.
Hey folks!
I've spent quite a long time lurking about the place and have really enjoyed looking at everyone's work. Having done so, I'd figured it was high time to actually get involved and see if I can't produce something that's pleasing to the eye!
So I work in a Landscape Architecture practice as a CAD technician, and assistant IT admin. I've been working here for over 10 years now, and have been loving it!
When I'm not at my desk at work, I can pretty much be found at my desk at home. Usually, I'd be playing some games, sit on Twitch, and play tabletop RPG (Games of choice are D&D, Exalted, WoD, and Scion).
So lately I've been doing some doodling on my lunch break. I'd open up Photoshop and just play around for 30 minutes then get back to work. Recently I've gotten into drawing maps, be it little towns or little islands. I've decided to expand on this and draw up a map. I don't know what I'm going to use it for yet; I might use it for a game, or a book... or something.
I like how it's looking at the moment, but obviously, there is room for improvement. Thing like the ocean looking a little bit flat, the lack of biomes, my river pathing being a bit naff, being paranoid that my roads don't make sense. But that's ultimately why I'm here. I want to improve and make this a half-decent map.
There's a post on the forum with my WIP in it. Hope you enjoy!

Many thanks! I'm actually surprised at how addictive it is. Like I say, I don't even know what I'm doing it for, but feel compelled to just keep going! Thanks, and hope you appreciate it!!
