Hello,

My name is Katarina, I am 22 and I'm from Croatia.

I don't have any experience in cartography, am also pretty bad at drawing on paper..
I decided to try and learn how to make maps in photoshop using brushes ect. than,
if I am any good, try to learn how to draw everything myself.

I read alot of fantasy and I always liked watching and imagining maps. That's where my interest
comes from.

I joined this forum because it seemed interesting and I like the name of it. Also, hope to find some cool turtorials.

Dobrodošli Katarina! I can only recommend to take a look at the Quickstart Guide to Fantasy Mapping by Ravells. There you find a lot of useful informations bundled. Don't hesitate to open an own wip-thread to show your progress on maps your doing and to get help if needed. There are usually a lot of friendly and helpful people around here.

Here are maps(descending ord.) I made following turtorials on website in these 2 days.. So many cities, I used name generator >.<

Wow, you've been quite productive the last days! These look pretty good for a start. Do you plan to work further on these or do you have a specific mapping project in mind?

Thanks . I am just doing them now to practice photoshop. I plan to make small lores together with maps in future when I learn it more. I would like to make city's map because I have some ideas, but I'll practice it after I learn this a bit more ^^.

I'm just doing it for fun now when my college is of for the summer.

Here is a thread to a TUTORIAL that LARB did on creating villages and town, look Larb up also, some beautiful work. Great start with your maps.

Also I saw you were from Croatia, from doing research for maps, its now on my bucket list to visit, looks absolutely beautiful country.
