Default The World of Fairy Tales - Commission

Recently I was commissioned by author K.M. Shea to make a map of the fictional continent in her 'Timeless Fairy Tales' series. You can visit her website to check out more about the series.

'Chaos has descended upon the world. The beast is cursed, Sleeping Beauty has fallen asleep, Snow White is forced to flee from her wicked step-mother, and Cinderella toils in her family home. Timeless Fairy Tales is a series that explores individual, stand-alone fairy tale books, and uses each story to reveal the greater conflict that consumes the world of fairy tales.'

Hey Daniel beautiful map, and clearly rep worthy, only comment would be the Title Pane, (maybe find a font that has true Small Caps so that the Capital Letter doesn't look bolder than the rest when it's larger. Also the spacing between the lines where the T and World touch could have a little more leading between the lines and a little more breathing room between the text and text border. Just a thought for new time, great job.

This is lovely, Daniel. The colours are appealing and the little touches of red contrast beautifully. Your illustrations look great too. Have to echo Snodsy's comment about the title. The 't' wedged under 'world' jumped out at me too, but I'm sure that's a relatively easy fix. But overall, it's a very attractive and inviting map, and would definitely make me want to know more about the book series.

I don't think I'll be able to rep you again so soon.

That is wonderful! It looks awesome.
The ships and the sea monsters are a great touch, as well as the roses in the corners.

Awesome! simple but nice! I like Carabas city icon a lot!
Just one note, isn't the capital "T" of Tales a bit too close to the above text?
sadly I can't rep you again..

A very atmospheric map, i like it. Simple but effective.
The only thing that...bothers...me a bit is that one city. First of all, it seems a bit lonely all on its own in the whole map (why only one city?!)...and somehow it seems to "float" on the water (also, you can see where the icon covers/overlaps stuff from beneath...for example the continental outline).

Thanks for the kind comments everyone! The capital T problem didn't even occur to me until after you all mentioned it. I'll have to go fix that.

Thanks Eilathen! It is intentional that there is only one city. My client wanted no labels on the map, except for the country names and that one city. I figured that since there is only one labeled city I might as well make it stand out a little. Maybe it is floating over the map a little too much, I will keep that in mind for future projects, thanks!
