After years of work, multiple redesigns (many of which have been featured here), it's as done as it can be for now.
Photoshop is one hell of a powerful tool!
Aside from minor tweaks or corrections, this IS the final map. Next step for me is to now commission one of you professionals to do a kick ass version of it!
I present to you my campaign setting, The West!
It's BIG, download, don't try and view online.

Hey Aslan. Very neat! The details of that are incredible! Looking at all those cities is very interesting. The land shapes and coastline are really great. The colours are done quite well.
I think the terrain could be better. Since you only used one brushes for most of the different terrain it looks repeating and the mountains look disjointed.
But overall a cool map with awesome detail and great worldbuilding.

That is a very interesting map. The river system is very complex and complete, very detailed, I like it a lot. I also like the fullness of the overall map. I do have an issue with the icons and labeling however. For instance it is very very difficult to actually see the difference between town and city. And as regards the labeling, the distinction of which label belongs to who or what kind of gets lost, since you have the font effects distinguishing between a bunch of nations as well as terrain features. Perhaps if the fonts were simpler it would be clearer, but maybe not. I mean I see the reason you sought the solution, perhaps though, it might be easier to just do a political map overlay?
Thanks man! Funnily enough a guy on rpg.net was giving me the gears for my rivers, bemoaning they don't look proper etc... To me it's a fantasy map. The world might not even be round, etc... but to each their own.
Hmmm... I gotta ask did you DL and look at it in full size? (48x36 inches at 150dpi) The reason I ask is that they are as clear as day to me, they have different fonts, colours, and location markers. If you are having problems, I am sorry to hear that, but I won't be relabeling the map just yet. Maybe after I get a commission doneI do have an issue with the icons and labeling however.
