    Hey, it's coming along really well! I love the look of the mountains.

    I do feel that the desert got dialed back a bit too much. It went from half the continent to a quarter... when I think 1/3rd would have been better. It's picky, I know, but the size of the desert if fairly important. Other than that, everything is fantastic so far. Good work!

    not a problem, I can go back and redo the desert. So we basically want something in between what we had and what we have now. I will try to get back to you with that later today, if not, I will post again on Friday.

    The repeating texture pattern of the grass and sea is too obvious, the coastline too smooth. Those jagged mountains just pop out of the ground in random places rather than resulting from natural processes, and the transition to fudge-frosting desert is far too sharp.

    Personally I'm really not keen on Campaign Cartographer. It has a steep learning curve so kudos for working with it, but imho the results from it are rarely satisfactory. If you rely on the built-in templates the resulting map is too easily identifiable as being produced by CC.

    Really nice, may some rings around the island to pull the land/water together? Love the Mountain ranges!!

    Maybe one of the mountain ranges has a straggler behind that visually connects it to another range? could tie the island together visually as well.
    The land texture black strokes are great. Love the swirly beach. And again love the water, I want that water

    Nothing beats a Herwin Wielink ocean

    I expect Storm will add all the embelishments nearer the end.

    Nice work Storm. Keep it up

    Well, I need to redo the desert anyway, because it's not quite large enough for the client. There's supposed to be badlands north of the desert, so I might try a layering effect to make the transition more smooth.

    And I'm not finished with the ocean, yet but those details won't happen until later.

    I can't really tie the continent to either of the landmasses, since, according to the client, the continent is fairly isolated.

    Thanks everyone, for all of your comments, even the negative ones! After all, critics, even harsh ones, spur me on to improve and grow!

    Your client is happy with the progression, and i like that you are posting it step by step....as this a work in progress, i know. It's starting to come along nicely....and knowing how your maps look from start to finish, i know it'll be beautiful. And, just what your client wants Keep up the good work!

    Hey Storm;

    Keep up the good work, it's not always easy working with client and then soliciting others for advice, this can really beat you down - have to have thick skin in the design business. At least most of the comments on this site are pretty positive and the critiques I've gotten have been mostly spot on and have advanced my maps to be better in the end.

    Know in the end you'll have either a good piece or have gained valuable knowledge in working with clients and working though issues. Good luck with this it will be one of your good pieces
