I think it deserves some rep.
Here's a modern atlas-style map of my sf/fantasy world of Helevos. Based on original hand drawn maps plus Wilbur/Fractal Terrains/Photoshop.

For various reasons human civilisation and its terranic "green" ecology is confined to the island continent of Anasthias and it's many islands. The rest of the world is "virid", incompatible with human life.
(Desperate to push my rep over 500 here!)

The background needs a little work... the pure white feels a little empty.
The map depiction itself is... well, let's say... extremely repworthy!
Thanks so much guys! I kinda like the purity of a white background, it's more in keeping with a modern atlas style which tend to be quite plain.
Any suggestions what else I could put? I tried just wrapping a box round it, that's something.

I thought of some very light texture... pure colours, especially white, makes these maps seem so extremely "digital".
But the border already helps a lot.
I would rep it again if I could.
Following my success with a modern style map of Anasthias here I'm revisiting this map which I never Finished to my satisfaction.
I realised my original file was pretty low res so I had to start from scratch with this map. I've replicated it at higher res, and to fill the space I added a panel about the moons, another about the neighbouring planets, plus some new explanatory text which gives more context.

Happier with this version but I still feel it needs some work.
I like it a lot. What sort of projections are you using/how are you generating them, because it's a style I don't think I've ever seen before.
The map's a combination of original hand-drawing, Wilbur and Fractal Terrains, so I'm using FT for the projections. They are all azimuthal equidistant projections of the hemispheres - other projections I played with made the land less visible around the Civilised World so this gave the best representation.
It's then finished off in Photoshop.
Thanks guys!
Robulous - I think you've done a great job on all of these maps. Clearly a lot of thought and attention to detail on your part. Impressive!
