    Default Hello from Rafal

    Hi guys.

My name is Rafal, i am from Poland, though living in Japan now. Have been checking this forum sometimes for a year now i think and finally i decided to join. It took me so long because i never thought i will stick so long with drawing maps. (actually learn to draw maps). Seeing so many gorgeous maps here i never believed i can reach even 10% of your skills. But hey! a year passed, i had my ups and downs, it's still a long way ahed of me, but i can see a progress and that is what motivates me.

My goal is to create world, regional maps and also close up maps. I have been most succesuful in close up maps now, world maps give me a really hard time.

That's about it i guess for now. I already got a warm welcome by some members in other section of the forum, thank you guys. It already feels very cosy in here.

Something to share for a good start:
A lighthouse i created some time ago for a DnD session. GM only needed 1st floor but i went wild with imagination and created couple more floors.

Ps. I got a notification some time ago saying "Latest Reputation Received (18 point(s) total)". Someone explain me what this is for ?

Nice to meet you! I really like the style of the light-house you posted. Until last week I had only tried to make continent-scale maps, and joined the forum mostly so that I could not only improve the larger scale maps, but hopefully learn to do smaller scale things as well. Needless to say, your light-house has gone right into the inspiration folder!

Glad to hear it. I would never imagine something i make right now would inspire anyone else.

    Welcome to the guild!
That map is wonderful, I love the clean style, and the lighting is excellently done. I'm going to save it for future reference also, it's inspiring.
