Well, I haven't been able to update this in a while, so it's about time I do so! I lessened the badlands a bit for the client, and started adding in some of the waterways. I still have one water way left to add, one that juts up against a forest on the western part of the continent. I need to check the placement of the two northwestern rivers into the north west bay, from what I understand, those two are fairly important.

I also need to check on the shape and size of the southeastern lake (sea?). Things are coming together .

Looking much better. I'd suggest toning down the texture on the sea, it distracts from the land which should be the composition's focus. The desert is much better though to me that texture with its shading gives the impression of a top-down aerial view, whereas the rest is an isometric view. Can you change opacity in CC3? Toning down the desert pattern, and maybe drawing in a few dunes for a more consistent isometric effect would help.

Yes, I can tone down the opacity... I already have a transparency on it, I can alter it. And you don't actually draw dunes, but I will possibly be adding a few, once I get some of the other elements in here. I'm still working on the ocean... but I want to make sure that I get the landmasses the way they need to be first. One thing at a time, or I tend to lose track

Progress looks fantastic! The Grinning Sea is pretty much perfect. The northwestern rivers should be good. The city there, Ashtburg, is the main focus of the novel (alongside the Cradle at the south), so you're right that it's pretty important and I think you've got it.

I'd say you're pretty much fine to continue on. I'm going to print this off and bring it to the weekly meeting with my writing partner and see what he thinks of it. I showed it to him a couple of instances ago and he was really impressed, so I'm sure he shall be again.

I'll let you know right away if we notice anything tonight.

Well, I have finally been able to get back online to bring out another update! I'm still testing ideas to work on that desert region, but in the mean time, I have managed to put the forests in place. These aren't by any means all of them... these are just the ones specific to the clients requests. I wanted to make sure I had those in place, first.

Looks fantastic! Not much else to say, as it's pretty spot on so far. Keep it up.

So, my writing partner and I spent some time going over the map really carefully this past weekend. Overall, we're both really impressed by it so far. We did have a few small notes though. First, we felt that the Grinning Sea was a little big. Would it be possible to shrink it down just a bit? 10-15% or something like that. Also, we felt that the river connecting it to the ocean should be much smaller and go almost directly east.

That's about it. Everything else is perfect.
