Looking good!!!
So I have started a new map to test out a political map style. I have already used it before on my Kanjekal Demesne map, but thought a little more pratice couldn't hurt. I am using a tutorial I found on DeviantArt and will try to use that to create something like this map:

And this is the map as I have it now. I will try to get something as close as possible to the reference map.

I moved to Angers this summer ! So ... I love it
Nice start, and interested to see you develop this.

Thank you all!
This one's for you then!
I made some progress on the map. I have finished the political borders and colors of the map and added this texture. Next up is adding the graticules, which I have never done before. I have some plans to get them in place, but they might not be the most efficient, so any suggestions are welcome!

Thank you Ilanthar!
I slightly tweaked the darkness of the demesnes/domains, the lands under direct control of the kings. I have added labels to the map. The only thing that's left now is the key. I might do a basic one like the reference map, but perhaps I'll try something more interesting for that.

This looks really nice, I think you've handled the text here very well, with a nice hierarchy. Very pleasing.
Thank you snodsy! I basically copied the reference though, so there wasn't that much of a challenge there ;P
I've added the title/key in the same style as the reference image. For now I have decided to stick with that, instead of something of my own. The reason for that is that other references in the same style all feature a similar title/key. I think this will be the final version on the map, unless any of you see mistakes or things that can be improved.

Better than the original!
What kind of fonts have you been using?
