Thread: 3d model map of Thief City

Default 3d model map of Thief City

As usual, I model a rough map in Sketchup. This allows me to make player hand outs for games quickly, and to create rough 3d scenes for atmosphere.

    The original Sketchup model:

The simple map created in Layout:

Some 3d views for atmosphere from the created map:

That's a very impressive map, rusty. As somebody who has also attempted to model an entire city in Sketchup, I think you've done an incredible job here. Well done.

That is indeed impressive ! Have you looked at Outerra ? Its a terrain engine but it can import COLLADA formatted objects of which SKU is zipped COLLADA so its right up your street. Theres a free demo of it but I cant recall if with the demo you can import objects. But since your so good with sketchup then I think you would fit right into that. The terrain backgrounds that it would enable you to have would be quite incredible with your skills.
