    This is an excellent work ! I like very much the look of your forest !
    I'm not sure to understand completely how it works : is it on PS ? is it a script ? A brush ?

    Anyway, I'm more that interested to have the possibility to fill an area with such lovely trees (without having to draw one after one ?)

    Hah, I wish I knew how to script something like this. This was done in PS, the old-fashioned way: I've drawn individual trees/treetops, then used a gradient to shade them. So, in case of the coniferous forests here you have three individual trees, each consisting of six layers, which then are manually mixed into forests using the clone stamp tool. For the coniferous trees I have six individual trees made in the same way + three leafless trees. It's labor-intensive, but aside from using a script (which I can't write) it's the best way I could come up with so far.

    So, the mixed forests are a bit more labor-intensive still (as I have to switch around between coniferous and deciduous layers to get a fiting overlap...), but here's what I hope is a good example of how I design them. The goal is to have some variance and some adherence to basic geographic principles.
