Greetings fellow gamers, bibliophiles, budding (and Master) Cartographers. I have arrived! My name is Chris and just found this site but I've been gaming and Mapping since the late 70's. Maps have always been an essential part of my games [Please Note: "my games" almost exclusively refers to some variant of Dungeons and Dragons-I have been playing AD&D for over 35 years and still run 1st/2nd Ed games.]
I have been drawing maps for almost that entire time and love them. A Globe-especially antique or old world-is just the best room décor and whether it's an underground dungeon or a couple hundred room Serpent of Ice, I've drawn them all. However I came tro technology late and though I really want to be able to make great maps on the computer I just haven't found a software that is inexpensive enough combined with simple enough for a neo-luddite like myself. I hope I will be able to upload some of my Maps (hand Drawn ) to the computer and post them here to share. -Anything else? Oh Yes-I'm married, (she games) have a 15 yr old son (he does not), I'm a self published fantasy author, a Film nerd and I get a huge amount of my gaming and Map inspiration from 70's and 80's Saturday morning cartoons (when they were good). In fact, looking for a Map to the "World of Mer" from the cartoon "The Pirates of Darkwater" is what brought me here. And it's really a cool map. I hope I can still rate it. Well, that's it for my intro. TTFN. (and please feel free to comment or message me-I can never have too many gamer/Map friends)
