The map is developing nicely ! I like the variety of vegetation. The light green patch of hills in the south-east suffers from the difference of color with the yellow of the sand, maybe you could tweak this ? I dunno how CC works...

    Looking good Storm

Just one thing, though. It may be something that your client has specified should be so, but I think you have a river running through two lakes from coast to coast?

(Then again I've been working for 18 hrs and my eyes are tired. Maybe I'm missing a tiny gap somewhere)

Howdy! So, the new features on the map are excellent! It's really looks like a real place!

So, my partner and I have been trying to flesh out the rest of the continent quite a bit as it's been coming up in the writing. Our story is focused on Cinolton, but the other regions are important too. In an effort to realize the rest of Alenhold, we made the image I've added to this post. I'm putting this up here as it alters some small parts of the map. I'm so sorry that there are changes again! It's starting to feel like I'm nitpicking everything... but unfortunately some parts of the story are still in flux.

We've been working with a slightly older version of the map, but I don't think it affects too much.
A few things to note: The orange lines on the west coast, we'd like this to also be badlands (connected with the badlands already in place).
The red lines are borders. Mostly, this has really worked out. The only change we need is to move the mountains that lie on the border between Ernalian and Surgrin. They need to move a bit more east, to close off Surgrin a bit more (so the borders runs right in the middle).

That's about it for now, I think. I don't think you have to worry about the rest of the markings. Again, I'm sorry about the adjustments. Everything else is so fantastic! I'm blown away at how great it is all coming along. The efforts you've made have actually helped us improve a few parts of the story and have really assisted in visualizing how the world works. I appreciate it all so much.

    Take care!

Lol...I don't mind the changes, and you have every right to nitpick! This map is for your story, after all!!!

As for the changes... Adding more badlands will actually be easy, I can just layer them like I did in the desert, that's just adding a new sheet then adding the fill. Here's a question though, do you want the badlands to go all the way to the edge of the landmass? Or do you want a defined border of greenery between? What I can do....is trace the edge of the land mass, then do a regular inner edge fade....it will give the same effect as the desert to the south.

As for moving the mountain range.... that's a bit more difficult, but it is doable. That will mean moving g those hills, and redoing that river, and because there is more flat land, the river will probably meander more.

While we are on the subject...I haven't added any plains, grasslands, or farmland, yet. Do you want/need any of those types of terrain? And if so, can you give me an idea of where you want them?

Once this next part is done, then it will be time to start working on towns, cities and structures within this map. The Borders and other stuff comes last.

This map is probably closer to being done than you think! :-D

Thank you for being so open to the changes! Really makes me feel better.

Would greenery along the edge make sense? I don't really have a preference either way, so whatever you think would be best.

So, a LOT of Ernalian is farmland, probably mostly in the center of the continent. They're a huge agricultural power. Cinolton (little compared to Ernalian) and Kayn (medium compared to Ernalian) has some as well, but not nearly as much.

I'll probably have some notes on cities and structures once you get to that point. They're somewhat labelled in the map I posted, but I'll have a more complete picture soon.

Works for me. :-). I should get those changes in a day or two. I don't know when I will have my laptop on next, but I will post the updates as soon as I can.

I do need to make you aware of one thing... We are now heading into the holiday season. I dont know where you hail from, but Thanksgiving and Christmas are just around the corner, and I'm already behind on my holiday crafting! So I may not be online as much, but I will still be working on this map :-). Just wanted to let you know.

I won't be able to get on here during the weekend, so I just thought I'd stop by and say Merry X-mas, happy holidays, and/or whatever holiday you chose to or chose not to celebrate! Haha. Take it easy.

    Hey mrjane

I don't know whether Ladiestorm can get online at the moment, but I'll say thanks, and Merry Christmas to you and yours as well

Well, it's been a while since I've been able to post anything to this thread. It took me a while to get the mountains moved, but I was finally able to manage it. I also added the scrubland, and the farmland. I still have some more things to do, but here is what I've done.

I've been wondering how this has been going Ladiestorm. I'm glad to see you participating at the guild a little more. I imagine you must be very busy right now. I don't really have much to say in the way of improvements but I know you will make a great map when it is all done.
