Dec '16/Jan '17 Lite Challenge: Niima Outpost
Got that Star Wars bug again...
Niima Outpost. The junkyard, come tiny spaceport settlement of Jakku. Maybe doesn't quite scream danger, but if you happen to have an orange and white football on you...
So far I've spent the majority of the time on figuring out the overall positioning of things from the film. At first I thought it would be easy just using the aerial shot of the falcon taking off. Turns out the CGI uses a lot of repeating elements, who would have guessed? So I resorted to reconstructing the buildings etc. from footage in the film and the extras disc. It took a while.
Not much to show yet but you can see the overall scope. I plan to go full color and detailed annotations for this one of course. Likely post-challenge closing again I'd imagine
