This is alsmost finished. I dont know how to put the text there yet, or acronyms for directions. But my bigger concern is whether it will fit in the map.

Very nice work, Voolf. I particularly like the work you did on the ordinal directions (NE, etc.) - to me it looks "icy" and I think it works very well.

Very nice compass! I love the way you did the scales. Maybe you could put the directions over the inner "earthy" circle, between earth and dragon?
Even if you don't use it for this map, I'm sure you'll reuse it later.

That's was i thinking about when still at linework stage. I forgot about directions when drawing dragon, now i can put N and S there, but there is no space for E and W because of dragon overlapping circle too much. Would have to lower those two a bit down. I will experiment tomorow. Thanks.

That was not my intention at all, but as long as you like it, i will take it as s job well done . Thanks

    Edit:

You could maybe try adding some slightly raised metal plates? Overhanging the world bit outside the points, to give a bit more room for the directions. Could do an engraved look or...? Just another idea. Could also float or somehow attach directions on the outside of the dragon rim.
    It is beautifully done, Voolf.

This awesome, Voolf. Really looking forward to the finished map, it will be mind blowing.

Thank you all for suggestions, i tried them all! The most difficult was putting directions on the dragons rim, could not make it right.
And the "floating one", I had not idea how to make it
After playing around i decided that acronyms embedded in front glass looks best, so i will go with that.
