Default January 2017 Challenge: California Über Alles

Hi guys, long time no see.
Life’s complicated and mapmaking has been difficult to me the last few months.
Now, even if a bit late, I would like to try a new alternate history map and this month’s challenge theme allows me to!
I chose “California Über Alles” by The Dead Kennedys. I’ll try to freely take inspiration from the lyrics.
I traced a map of the West Half of North America, and something will follow, I have a few ideas in mind.

Hey fabio, welcome to the challenge. Love that song, so looking forward to seeing what you do with it. You're off to a good start, anyway.

Hehe this is a great thread for discovering who appreciates punk of a certain vintage

I love the DKs although I never got to see them live. I did see the Ramones back in the 80s though - they were superb

Great setting and great start to the map.

@Chickpea: Thank you, love that song too, love 80’s music (punk, new wave, dark and gothic wave, and great versatile artists (like Prince). I had a bunch of songs that I thought was good for a map, the choice was not simple at all.

@Tenia: thank you, you’re too kind, I think I still have a long road before me to create decent and good maps.

@DarkInfinity: thank you, I strongly advise you to listen and mosh to all Dead Kennedys songs, you’ll fill relieved!

@Straf: thank you, and well the Ramones where great too of course; I really don’t know if punk of a certain vintage might be still popular today; still it should!

Finally did listen to the song. I have head Holiday in Cambodia before, but I think that was the extent of my Dead Kennedys experience.
My roommate in college exposed me to a wide variety of Punk one in particular I remember was a punk cover of Somewhere over the rainbow by September Boy maybe?.

Not a bad song, if you are in to the punk scene.

This could be the last iteration of my map; there's a long text that may contain gross mistakes; as always, I accept critiques on the map and suggestions, I still have a few days for corrections.

The only thing that jumps out at me at the moment is 'paraphrases' instead of 'paraphrase' in the long text.

Part of Sonora seems to have gone to the dogs

    The map is looking great
