Great job on this it's beautiful an dthe photoshop part is awesome. I worked a little with dems and QGIS but didn't find any fun in that , so didn't really go too far down that path to tech for me.
Nice job love your work
A cold winter makes me want to make a map with warm colors and a map of the colorado river is a good theme for that. This is a small part of lake powell and the colorado river, getting the dem data was a bit tricky with this one, i had to convert ascii files in tif format, merge all those and use qgis to make an hillshade. The photoshop part was much more pleasant than the begining

Wow, I love this! I have absolutely no clue what you just said about the techincal stuff and have no time to google it now, unfortunately... But I love the result nonetheless. The colors are fantastic, and the reliefs look amazing.
You might be interested in http://www.textureshading.com/Home.html and http://www.shadedrelief.com/banff/texture_shading.pdf for ideas on getting a finer etched relief on some of the hillshading. I mention this because I pushed the basic texture shading code into Wilbur in the last release as seen at https://cartographersguild.com/showthread.php?t=36031 (true, it's just some pictures).
Hi Francissimo!
It seems you've done another GIS-related masterpiece here!
I always admire your skills in managing dems and vectors in GIS software and beautifying them in graphics software.
Beautiful work Francissimo! I love the way your manage to work you magic on the DEMs and this one is particularly pretty with the colours you've chosen.
