Cheddar is proper Carboniferous limestone karst, complete with collapsed caverns (hence the gorge itself) and underground rivers and caves, so your pictures would be very welcome. Perhaps to add to the FAQ to give people a general idea of the kinds of landforms and the shape and general appearance of the rocks... though we would have to bear in mind that the typical English day is rather less bright than a nearly equatorial one, and that the stone would probably look even more white / cream-white around Guild City, and have possibly less green stuff tumbling down its cliffs in the dry season

So... fellowing the discussion about color of the stone, sun and lattitude... here's the colors I came up for the stone, and some grass.

I will work again on all those laying rocks, to make them look as the one which is in the harbour (near the crane). I took inspiration on the rocks texture that Mouse use for her district.

    Glad to hear comments...

I love that tiny piece of stone texture, Jo - though I think it is noticeably better than mine Jointing in level beds of limestone has a tendency to be quite square and block-like, which I couldn't seem to get right.

    The colours are just great!

(and sorry for all the chatter about stone colour and light)

So... I've tried all the solutions I thought for the colors with the Eastern quarter...
    Tell me what you think...
(I'm not absolutely convinced by the color for the paths... I tried to go for "mud" because mud seemed to me to be the most probable material - I didn't want that all the streets be cobble stone)

    Its beautiful, Jo

I don't have a problem with any of the colours - they go well together, and look the part

Hmmm, I may have to go with terracotta colored roofs
Maybe a bit of slate too, like Mouse.
This is coming along nicely JO.

What colour were you going to do yours before you saw ours, then, John?

I can't remember who (think it was Falconius, but may be not), but one of the other City Mappers was going to do stone tiles... I think.
