Default Hi all. Long time cartographer, but new to the forums here.

I figured this was the best place for my first post. I had recently been reminded of this forum here and wanted to start contributing. I have been a fantasy cartographer for some time and have been published in several games, mostly RPGs. I have a degree in graphic design and ran my own web development company for about 12 years. I am now working in game distribution.

On the side I work on freelance projects creating maps as well as creating full high-end tabletop terrain tables for miniature games. Both things kind of go hand-in-hand where one is 2D creativity and the other 3 dimensional sculpting and modeling.

I hope to post some of my work here once I find the right sub forum.

I am also looking forward to sharing ideas with the community and learning some new techniques and approaches to cartography.

Definitely want to see some of your table top 3D dioramas. I did one with a mate which we intended to enter into the national Warhammer expo. We were aiming to win it and put a lot of effort into it. Only for the year we did it, they announced that there would not be a full show and only ran local ones.

Default Priate Cove board for Blood and Plunder

One of the latest boards was done for a new miniatures game called Blood and Plunder from Firelock Games. They used it extensively in their rule book. Their site has a video on the home page that can give you some good angles on it. It is a 4'x4' board and the water is about an inch deep.

I am currently working on a new board for them that is an interior tropical farm.

    Nice to meet you, DrRhubarb.

Fellow newbie here. I’m more on the side of enthusiast than pro, myself. Do you do any digital work? You know, stuff for videogames?

    Default Video Game Maps

Yes I have done some work for video games. Mostly in the mobile app or web app arena, but for some reason the video games I have worked on seem to never get completed. Usually due to lack of funding. I have worked on a city area control, gang warfare map, and a few platformers.
