Awesome map Blaidd! Your lineworks are very accurate, I like how you shaded the mountains and how you made the trees on upper side, your maps are a masterpiece of pen ink!
This is a remake of an older map of mine.
It portrays a region in my home-brew campaign setting that our group's current D&D game is set in. If names like "Phandalin" sound familiar, that's because we started the campaign with the D&D 5E "Lost Mine of Phandelver". Rather than come up with new names for everything in that module, I essentially copy-pasted it into our setting as is
Materials used:
-A3 size Canson Illustration board
-lineart done by hand with micron pens
-colouring and aged paper in Photoshop
-coffee for fuel

This is simply gorgeous. I love your drawing style and delicate colouring.

Wow, I always be amazed by your drawing style, it feels like there is so much details. Do you make a quick draft before or use a pencil to sketch before you start with the micron pen ?
Thanks everyone! I'm glad you like it. This map caused me no end of head-aches and I really had to push myself to finish it. Good to know it pays off ^_^
I sketch in pencil first.
First I sketched in all the locations very roughly. Just two lines for the top and pottom of the mountain range, for instance.
After that I did a more detailed pencil sketch of a small part of the map, inked it, sketched some more, inked it, and so on. Whenever I try sketching everyting in pencil first (Which would be better), I always end up smudging the graphite all over the paper xD
This will likely be one of my favorite pieces of the new year. Just fantastic work.
Cheers,
