    Question Grid troubles

I am starting to design d&d battle maps for my own use(+ possibly for sale later on) and while I use roll20 for my games, if I decide to go for the sales option I know I will need to adjust it.
The problem is, I use the grid that comes directly from roll20, and have no idea how to apply a grid directly to my maps. I work in PS. I use the grid available in PS, but it overlays even over walls etc. and I would like to apply it only on the walking areas.
    Any advice?

In GIMP, I would go to Filters->Render->Pattern->Grid and put that onto a new layer. Then, use a layer mask on that layer and limit it to the "inside" area, ie the floored area and not the walls. I am fairly certain PS has a similar feature, but I don't know exactly where. Worst case, you could always download GIMP and load the PSD file up to finish the process. As long as you have your stuff in different layers in PS, it should be extremely easy, but if not, it's still certainly possible but more work.
