However I do want to add something that is bothering me. I think it's fair to say that my map should have been disqualified. Clearly it was finished 2015, and even though it was posted 2016, the fact that it is a older map should be enough to disqualify it. Otherwise anyone could repost a map they made a previous year.

The reason I bring it up now is because it got so many votes. I honestly didn't think people would vote for a past runner so I didn't check back earlier, but wish I would have. Especially when the final result was so close between Francesca and Blaidd. If my map was disqualified, as it should have been, then all those vote might have changed the final result. And in all fairness it's a 50/50 chance that it would.

Either way, congratulations to the winner. I would have voted for it again, however, I just wanted to air this because I think this is very unfair towards Blaidd.

I appreciate your consideration, but I really don't see any reason why yours shouldn't have been among the nominations. You have to use something as a criterion for inclusion, and the date when the Finished Map thread was made seems as good as any to me. If we'd done an Atlas award last year, your map would not have been in it, so it balances out. Whatever the outcome, I don't feel cheated in any way. I'm really quite happy with being nominated in the first place and getting a lot of votes feels pretty sweet to me as well

    Cheers!

A lovely piece FrancescaBaerald, and one fully deserving of this award. Congrats.
