Ilanthar's right about a person's first few maps not really being a good indication of just how much untrained talent they really have just waiting to come out. In my experience its all about confidence, and learning to relax and enjoy the process as well as being willing to try out any suggestions that are made
Your maps really aren't as bad as you think. They're better than the first oil paintings I ever did, and I sell my landscapes nowadays

Yep, those aren't bad at all! I like the volcanoes/smoke in Kamé. I especially like that you didn't overdo it with the water coloring, which is easy to do.
These are very nice, Danielle, and don't be so hard on yourself!! Even if you're not going to be the next Da Vinci, you'll always get better with practice.. and sharing your work with the Guild, of course!
