    I will also add some noise to islands then
    Regarding the mountains, I tried doing a mountain technique from a pdf but I messed up so instead I just used a Clouds layer, set it on darken or multiply, then used 2 gradient maps over it, one for the medium and small mountains and the other for the big ones(with snow at the top). They use layer masks as to not overlap each other because the white looks reddish then.
