Map BW map of a alternate Faerun. (First map!)

Some names are reused and some location inspired by the original map but for a first time I think I did pretty okay.
I have scoured the internet looking for cartography tips and tricks and you guys are pretty amazing. Just made an account.

it still needs to be colorized and adjusted a little bit.

    What do you guys think?

Pretty good map, considering it is your first. Nice start and welcome to the guild.

Here is an optimized "old-paper" version, if anyone wants to download. Very "piratey" feel.
This is now a LOT better: 110215_old_paper.jpg

nice.. what's alternate about it. I have not looked in a few years, but I don't remember the names in the very south being something I recognize.

Well some names are from Faerun and some are just made up or found in different lore. The area around Baldurs Gate is inspired from the Sword Coast (The High Moor, The Cloakwood, CandleKeep,etc.).

Some names such as "Bargewirght Inn", "Rivergard Keep", "Ruins of Thundertree", "Sacred Stone Monastery" and "Sighting Valley" are all names from the D&D universe that already have map tiles in the official campaigns. And those map tiles will also be used in our campaign.
