Make a Bookmark Project discussion thread

I find it a little strange that there is so much interest in making a bookmark for some reason, even though it is just... a bookmark. It would take a few minutes minute to make and anyone could do it anytime.
But yeah, I'd love to do it.

I want to get an idea of how many people are interested. If we need to set up a folder, for instance in the Community Participation area, I'd need Robbie or Redrobes to do that, as those areas are locked to everyone except admins. So I'd like to get an idea of what we're doing and how much interest there is before we start changing the forum structure.

There's nothing to stop you starting work on your own right now and posting what you've got once things get rolling officially.

Excellent! My absolute favourite bookmark is a metal Charles Rennie Mackintosh style bookmark I got as a present a while back. It'll take a while before it wears out.

Yeah, I'm inclined more to the project side of things too as I don't think it's really big enough for a challenge!

It might be a nice way for new members to get their feet wet. That's maybe thinking a little too far ahead though.

I want to do something that incorporates the Guild name, so it's not just a skinny map. Space will be an issue and I think layout could be quite tricky if I want to include a variety of terrain. It'll be a fun exercise for sure.

Would you prefer a challenge or are you happy to work as part of a group project with no specific start/end dates?

Group project without dates.

I wondered about setting a defined size and we all create bookmarks that are the same dimensions (again, just an idea open for discussion).
I'm not sure if there's a generally accepted size for bookmarks, but perhaps 7x2inches might be an easy size to work with.

I suggest everyone make their own desired size. I personally dont like such a big bookmarks and preffer something aroud 14x5cm.

@Josiah and Dan - I think it is partly just the fun of a group thing and also bookmarks... bookmarks with maps. ;P
It's also small, fast, and easy so you can do it and it does not eat huge amounts of time [like Guild city maps ].
Thus people can easily jump in and be sure of finishing.

I think I will do at least a few totally new ones... then I might do a few crops from other maps too.
That could be fun. Maybe a Harlasea dragon bookmark

This would be a good starting point for a Guild-themed store! With bookmarks and coffee cups and vestments! Maybe pointy hats with tassels!
