Cheers, Matthew! It's a style I've been meaning to have a stab at for a while.

Haha, no pressure on me then! I'll do my best!

Thanks, Hustle. Well, I'd love to say I did have some kind of method, but I don't know if I do really. What I generally do though is once I have a rough idea of what I'm going to do with a map, I sketch out a very rough landmass shape, jsut really blocking in the compositional shape. From there, I do a new landmass outline roughening up the edges, putting in some new sticky out bits and inlets. Once I'm vaguely happy with that, I then add a few offshore islands, which I find can really add to the realism.

Sometimes I put in things and think it doesn't look right so shift it about a bit or just delete it. With the islands, it's really about playing about to see what feels right and trying not to overdo it. I don't usually anymore, but sometimes looking at real world maps can help with the offshore island look. Hope that helps!

Great start, Greg. Looking forward to the rest of the WIP
Haha, thanks Mouse, let's just hope the rest of it continues just as well...

No update just yet, but it is progressing! I've got the fun task of coming up with a good 100+ names for the map and I'm hoping to base them all around the users on the Guild to add to it being the home of cartographers.

Took a crack of making a map with names from the guilds many years ago, but got stuck along the way so it never got anywhere other than the general landmass - so I wish you much luck with your endeavor

Thanks, Tilt. I've decided to make a start on them and thrown in a few labels so far. Plenty more to go and these capitals are just roughly put in for now.
