What a cheek you have, CanAbyssKahn. Telling Charles he is to feel free to keep up with the project, as if YOU have the right to give permission for him to work on HIS world. And removing accreditation is nowhere near good enough - you must delete the whole world form you website and stop using it AT ALL. I regard you a a right proper b.... It's people like you who make people like me not want to share their stuff on the internet except through well secure sites. I am utterly horrified at your complete lack of remorse or personal respnsibility for your wrong-doing, which you seem to have difficulty in accepting you have committed. Whatever country you live in, if ot breeds people like you, you r country should be ashamed - as you should be, but obviously are not.

CanAbyssKahn I think you have missed the point a little here. It's not the reference/acknowledgement to Charles that is the issue here. It is you using his work, his creation, without his permission. You are not allowed to do that. It is called plagiarism at the very least, but is actually as bad as theft. Charles holds all of the rights to how his work can be used, and can change his mind at any time. It is his intellectual property right. This doesn't matter if it's for sale or freely available, the use of works is subject to terms and conditions and permission must be sought. For example if Charles were to enter an agreement with the developers of Minecraft to produce a world based on his creation and one already existed it could compromise any such agreement and deny Charles fiscal reward for his own work because someone stole that opportunity from him.

You have not been granted permission to use this work for your project and so you will have to remove this from the forum, and all other places, that you have posted it. You must destroy all work you have done on this project using this particular piece of work.





Anyway, Charles I finally found the thread I was going to comment on last week. Or this week. It must have been just after the challenge as I couldn't rep you and then planned to come back but I couldn't find the thread again (I don't always read the titles - D'oh!)

I like how this is laid out, like a supercontinent with different regions that would keep a number of games going for years and years The squid looks a bit surprised so I'm imagining there's a fish or something tickling its bum This is a massive world!

...just go thru the entirety of PMC. Stuffs everywhere. The one that sticks out the most however is, THIS & THIS. Arklan was taken down off PMC though after people found out it was based on someone elses work and was not accredited. Can't remember what they called it though.

This saddens and appals me.

From now on, I for one will only be posting my finished maps to my private album, to which only the Community Leaders and my acknowledged friends have access.

This will continue to be the case until it is proven that all the existing Minecraft worlds that are based on maps taken from the Guild are being used with the full permission of the original author, and that none of them have breached in any way the terms of that permission.

Damn, I can only echo Mouse here; this just makes me sad beyond words. I mean, you do know that the work of talented people gets ripped off all the time, but it's not that often you have to come face to face with it like this.

Well, that being said, back to the actual subject: great work here, Charles. The scale of this project is enormous, as a fellow world-builder I applaud you, truly. Wonderful!

Why can you all not understand what I am saying. I'm not making my project by copying his work. I just used it as inspiration and linked to his work because it got my creative juices flowing. English is not my primary language but I know it's good enough ffs.

Yes. The only thing I actually used from his work is the general shape of what he calls "The Claw." and part of the land mass behind it which is completely differently shaped. If anyone would of bothered looking on my MCForum post they could have seen this for the past 12 hours.
