Mapping a real place

There's a ruined castle sitting on the top of a short sea cliff near where I live, but its all fenced off with danger signs and trespasser warnings. Health and Safety laws in this country are a total nightmare! You can't get to poke around anywhere that's actually interesting in that sense, just in case you slip and twist your ankle doing it.

And just in case anyone is feeling brave, there are official local government warning signs up on the fence saying 'Trespassers will be prosecuted to the maximum extent under the law'

Things are a bit different here, I guess.

Ah, I forgot about British "health and safety." It's pretty dumb. But still nothing stopping one from going to a quaint local and mapping it (even if it has been done).

I'd really like to map one of the local potholes, but I'd have to pay a professional potholer to take me down into the limestone.
