Hello,

I would eventually like to print the map I am currently working on (if it ever gets finished...), but I am unsure of canvas dimensions. I am making the map in the equirectangular projection, as I like to use G. Projector. The coastlines are all done in vector so I can easily resize these. However, the artistic elements are raster so I would like to make sure I am using the right size from the beginning.

I use a 420 x 210mm canvas at the minute, but I realise this isn't any standard printing size. I would like to keep one map which is just the landmasses without any borders etc. around the image to use for projections. But I also want to make a more artistic version to print which will have a border and maybe some text - this means I will have to increase the canvas size to allow for borders (or shrink the land).

Is there any recommended size to allow for an equirectangular projection? I was imagining printing something along the lines of A3 or A2 (UK size).

Many thanks.
