Thank you very much everyone!
I will be away for a few weeks, so here is a tiny update for now. I'll continue work on the map when I return.
I changed the river colour and tweaked a few other things. Let me know what you think!

It looks awesome. I love the forests, both the look and the variety. Good styles imo.

Big fan of the way your coloring works. Even the seas/oceans have enough variance to add to the visual effect of locale. The northern dark waters look cold and unforgiving, while the brighter, almost greenish tinted waters of the inland seas and gulfs look warm and inviting.
I'm also enjoying your terrain features. The mountains and forests are very distinct and work so well together.
The map is looking great, Josiah, but I do prefer the forests you used to draw before this new brush of yours.

Update! I was gone for a bit, but over the last week or two I've returned to working on this.
Noticeable features in this update :
-cities
-borders
-LABELS! (lots of labels)
-coastal wave/shelf
Things to do: Still more labels, fix a bunch of things, text effects for more readable-ness, border and title eventually and probably some other stuff.

Thanks so much Hustle. That's the exact type of feeling I was trying to give with the colour of the waters. Glad that's what it makes you think of.
Thanks for the feedback Mouse! Newfangled technology is just horrible isn't it.
Beautiful colours and line work. I particularly like the ocean
I think the way you draw your forests is better than the brush, but that's only my personal opinion

Great map Josiah. Colour scheme is excellent. I don't have issues with your forests. Speaking of which, I know there are quite a few folk on here with a thing for forests, check out Deven Rue's work, mainly done in inks and then scanned I believe (including colouring). She draws every damn tree individually...good luck with that I say!
Oh, This beauty comes back. Nice job Josiah. The rep star is waiting to be clicked when it is finished

It becomes a real masterpiece!
It's very impressive to see how you both make a very realistic look, and at the same time make it almost a painting.
I find the choice of colors very intelligent: enough clarity to make the card cheerful and alive, but with beautiful contrasts with the oceans.
The forests are very special: many sparse areas, which give a very realistic aspect, increased still with this effect bevel and emboss, which come to give a nice volume (and I find that it is very difficult to make this volume to This scale).
And then the difference in climate between the north and the south is also very well done: not excessive, but sufficient to understand that one is in front of an entire continent.
Really good work I find ...
Your map will really inspire me for my future work!
I adore the watercolor effect! That looks so cool.
The words over the forests are a bit hard to see. I don't know if adding a contrasting edge might make them a little more visible? Or maybe altering the tint to make them lighter over dark things?
