Looking great so far! The design is great and your building layout is excellent. You make wonderful use of the bevel effect!

Excellent! I still consider Maffaton as one of my favourite city map, you know. So, I'm impatient to see this one finished .

Yeah, well, steel yourself with patience, my friend, because we're in for the long haul. This is going to take some time. Because of the way I work, not planning anything or making sketches or outlines, If I'm not careful, this might spiral out of control and end up becoming Empire of Humankind-esque in proportion. I really need to learn to limit myself. Oh well...

    Another update.

Changed the courtyard grass, trying out some number labels and, of course, adding another thousand or so buildings.

No kidding! But thanks for the compliments. You might be fooled into thinking that, since a fair percentage of the map is now buildings, that the map is actually anywhere near done. Ha, what folly! Yes, the city is actually coming along quite nicely in terms of size, but there are several key prospects that threaten to negate that progress: 1) My fatal perfectionism. I will tinker with this map until I am 117,8% satisfied with it, or until death takes me, whichever comes first (death will come first). 2) Even though the buildings are placed, I plan on adding second/third/fourth/X-th storeys, windows, towers, and change the shade of each individual building to add variety, and a thousand other details. So no, not even the stuff you see now is "done". 3) I am coming dangerously close to expanding the overall size of the map to make room for an even bigger city. This is often what happens with my maps, because I don't plan them out in advance, so I almost always run into problems with scale and composition, and just my own dissatisfaction with how small my map is. Small? This map? Small? Small.

I'm currently working on the mini-map that goes in the bottom right box, that will show the region surrounding the city. This is actually something of a relief, since working on this map can at times seem daunting, just because of the sheer scale and knowing the work that involves, which can be downright stressful.

I sincerely hope that you can surpass your perfectionism to arrive at the end of this card! She deserves it!
And I look forward to seeing the mini-map! It always adds a lot to a plan, a view of the region !
