Psssst... Pixie... we don't have to tag them any more. Red's got a modified scraper that picks them all up automatically

Cos I don't want to frighten him off.

This is a very rare sighting - the big D doing a WIP thread - and a cracker at that, and I don't want to spoil it

The western part of the Empire is getting closer to completion. I didn't plan it, but all the western provinces decided they wanted to be German(ish), so German(ish) they are. They're mostly loyal and consider themselves far superior to their barbarous cousins to the north and west. I started working on a regional breakdown for the various Imperial territories; the darker pink ones are core provinces, and the lighter ones are 'inner provinces' (as opposed to 'outer provinces', which are ones like the afore-mentioned Germanic states). The last category will be Occupied Vassals. I also changed from an inner glow to a solid stroke around the perimeters of the nations for easier visibility and better detail.

It already looks so authentic that its difficult to remember that you haven't just 'popped out' through the star gate in your basement to go and grab a map from a local cartographer - someplace in downtown Bannarith!

One more big update for the weekend. The Empire's borders are all fleshed out - the Core and Inner Provinces are colored, just need to figure out something for the Outer Provinces and the Occupied Vassals (I need a less-clunky name there). Probably diagonal and horizontal pink stripes. Maybe. I don't know.

A large chunk of geography is done - the deadly Desert of Skulls, and the vast steppe that takes up a huge chunk of the interior of the southern continent, and is home to many steppe nomad tribes.

One of the Empire's main rivals has also made its first appearance: the Shoban. Think Hausa or Songhai with flintlocks, cannon, and a powerful navy... Which reminds me, the general tech level of this region is mid- to late 18th century.

Coming along nicely, D. And as always, i love that you give us setting background. Keep it coming.

You know, putting the setting in the era you did, it kind of inspires Blades in the Dark - ish campaigns (yes i know, BitD is set in an even more advanced era...but still ). I love that.
If you don't know Blades, you should check it out (if you're at all interested in p&p role-playing games, that is).

This is coming along quite nicely. I'm not a big fan of the style of mountains you used, but I can see why you chose it.
Keep plugging away I think this ill be a 'stunner' once completed.
