Update: Border Tests - Tell me which you like most!

    Pros to Fat Border:
    - Allows for more beautiful stuff and creativity
    Cons to Fat Border:
    - Suffers texture issues because of my lack of planning (thanks, self)

    Pros to Skinny Border:
    - Little to no texture issues, and lightweight
    Cons to Skinny Border:
    - Looks very tiny and non-ornate

Fat border. In general they look better, but here it definitely works better.

I have to agree with Falconius. That fat border looks gorgeous.
I'm totally envious of that border.

I will be honest, i was more fond of the other one.
There was a nice tapestry quality to it.

I love the colours here, great job so far! I agree with J.Edward on the border, but this one is nice too. All around I think that what ever way you go with the border will be stunning, all of the options you showed are really nice... I look forward to seeing this one completed.

And thus, a compromise was born - I quite liked the heraldry BUT I also knew I could make the "tapestry" work:

It would be very easy for me to switch it all over to English, I wouldn't mind it, since I have this map sketched out in full, and this is more of a vanity/practice project.

So, what're your thoughts? Should I switch out the pseudo-names for English versions?
As said, this might only be a problem for people like me, who a) know German and b) are kind of difficult
If you like the names, i'd say keep them. Because most of your audience will probably be English speaking (or Portuguese, i guess?). If you want more input on more German sounding variants, i'm sure we can help you (there are a lot of German speaking guilders). If you want to go "way of least resistance", a change to "all English" is a feasible option as well. But i think this is for you to decide

I'm not a huge fan of the heraldry border, mainly because the heraldry isn't what's shown on the map itself. The tapestry on top, on the other hand, is AWESOME.
