Nice and clean. The chalkboard idea is awesome. Somehow, the shadows works better on the colored version - they are a bit strange on the B&W, imho.
So recently I have been commissioned to make a map for a movie treatment that's most likely going to be shot in the Warner Bros. Town Square studio lot. The client initially wanted a black and white map, but later decided he'd pay extra for a colored version. The maps are not going to be used in the movie or other material, they're mostly just to pass around the crew as a reference for the setting.

Yeah its unusual shadow cast, but the map is gorgeous.

Oh very nice
You've got isometric perspective off to a T (not as easy as it looks)
I think I prefer the B/W version, though I do agree with Ilanthar that the shadows are not quite there. Maybe if they were fractionally lighter, and had a very slight blur on the edge?
The colour version is great, though I would love to see it with greater depth to the colours, and with a bit more tonal contrast overall.
All in all, though, a great pair of maps

Congrats on the commission! I like the b&w version better, the lineart is really great. The colors are a bit too flat for my taste, especially on the grass background.
Really nice one, Daniel ! About the shadows, I'll join my voice to the others. What bothers me is that the trees shadows, for example, are longer than the central tower's. That size problem is a bit all around the place but it's easy to fix.
Thank you for your comments everyone!
Since everyone brings up the shading problem I decided to go an try to solve it. The idea for this map was to use very simplistic shading, rather to give an impression than anything detailed. I've changed the shading of the trees to make it fit better with the style. Please let me know if this is better.

Sorry for making this a WIP thread. If this is indeed an improvement I'll change the images in the first post and leave it with that!
I'd say the shading seems to show a noon-ish lighting. Something that concerns me is the fact that there's a shadow on both sides of the buildings plus the shadows of the trees aren't large enough for my taste.
I personally think that cast shadows really bring a map to life. Were I in your shoes, I'd make longer shadows for tall buildings but that's just my two cents.
