What do you mean with shadows on both sides? They're actually just on the right bottom side of buildings, unless something blocks light on the left bottom side of buildings.

I really like this map and am glad the client wanted it colored, it would have seem unfinished without it to me. I am not sure I agree with the shadow comments completely. I think for the cartoonish style, one should not expect too much realism.

The eye of thomas is really sharp ... I join him on his remarks, but apart from that a welcoming village and a very nice map

Thank you Jo and acrotiger! And thank you for pointing it out Thomas. I imagined those shadows as dark areas around the house. I will get to it and see if it looks better without the shading around the houses.

Very nice map. I think I'd have liked a teeny bit more texture instead of the flat colour, but I suppose the client was more interested in legibility than artistry. It works beautifully for the purpose, and personally, I love isometric layouts, so it's a win for me!
