Thanks Ilanthar. I post this update too soon, i'm not happy with the result and will try a greater frame to draw the style of mountains i want.

No. In my first idea, there isn't any astronomical continuity between two hexaedron. The north pole is located closer to Kalte. But don't mind with it now, surfing the internet I found the fuller projection and will try to adapt it to my world maps. This will be more suited to a discussion on the climate.

    Wip (re)birth with tectonics ;)

Hi guys. It's been a hell of a long time since my last contribution, even if i kept an eye on this forum (great productions to be seen as usual). I have lately had the impression of being rude, reading over the shoulder of member of the guild. I almost think that PaGan, Kacey, Pixie, Azelor or even Charerg amount others had to perceive my phantom aura behind their back when they posted lately.

Let speak about tectonic then. Here is my latest works on Djaia worldbuilding. It is the first set (among four other) of five maps describing the evolution of the continental mass during the 200 million years between the last supercontinent and the present.

These six maps use the plate carré projection and show the main tectonic lines.

The gif animation use the Mollweide projection.

    Any comments are welcome.
Edit : turning the blue font to a grey one.

This looks really good Warlin though I think I may have a seizure after staring at that electric blue for so long. I'm currently "trying" to make a similar series of time dependant maps but I've jumped from 200ma (super continent) to 130ma... What time interval are you using between each version of the map? And how did you make the little animation? It's really neat to see it moving like this... Can't wait to see how this progresses.

Sorry for this electrical blue (i have trouble with monitoring colors).
The time interval between map is 10 Myears. I hope the plate movement are realistic this way.

Hi Thomas ! En effet, je trime sur ce type de carte depuis 6 mois et j'ai du me taper un petit programme en script-fu pour gimp en plus.

Here is an .gif update with the plates denomination and the laps time. Hope you like it.
The land masses rotates around eulerian pole with equivalent terrestrial speed. I manage to create a small script-fu applet that makes the rotation in the plate-carré projection.

    Cheers.

    100% cool!

And I'm curious about that little script-fu of yours.. Is it something you can turn public and escorted by a little tutorial?
