Good call on the no blur. It can be used to soften harsh shadows depth or contrast but at a very low opacity.

Looks great, the boulders are well placed.

I think I have come up with a good solution to the redundancy that doesn't involve blurring. So here is my next update, and I can now start to dress things up, and get it to the end of the map. I'm actually almost done.

I think this looks alot better... and not a blur in sight!

You have done what I was thinking of suggesting. If you take a single texture that is very low res then make it seamless and then scale it into a number of scales and then blend them back together again you should have a texture that is mostly representative of the originial but does not suffer from low pixellation. This only fails badly when the pattern is so strong that it shows through. But for grass and rock it should work really well.

@Redrobes - lol... okay, I have absolutely no clue how to do what you just suggested, and I don't know if I even can in cc3+. What I actually did was take a preset transparent grass fill from cc3+ that was close to the grass fill I was using, and then overlapped them. All I had to do was make sure the transparent grass fill was close enough in hue to make it look natural. If you notice, it's not a 100% match, but that's actually perfect, because wild grass is not uniform in color or texture. That only happens in well manicured lawns.

Well, I've worked quite a bit on this map, and though I may continue to tinker it a bit, fix any mistakes or what not... I'm calling it done. So here is my section of the Carverns of Chaos (section 1)

I hope I have the correct dpi, I don't know how to determine that in cc3+. If someone else knows how to determine that, if you can let me know, I will make sure I have it correct.
